Sölden, Austria - October 22nd, 2011 - FIS
World Cup - Giant Slalom Ladies Last time that we could watch the Ladies' World Cup we traveled to the Aspen Winternationals in 2009. But this year we actually could enjoy the first race of the new season 2011/12. And what a great start for the American girls!!! Scroll down for some great pictures!  This was a very steep course and a great crowd!  Girls of the Austrian Ski Team  My sister and me with Kathrin Zettel  Maria Riesch.  We are cheering for the American Girls...  .....Julia Mancuso,...  My sister is always so lucky - great picture with Lindsey Vonn. The American girls were amazing - Lindsey won her first Giant Slalom World Cup, Julia placed 10th!  Victoria Rebensburg, Lindsey Vonn, Elizabeth Görgl on the podium. There was a huge party at night in Sölden to honor the first 6 ladies of the day. 
  On Sunday we went by a gondola up to the highest peak of Germany - "Zugspitze" - 2,962 m.  This was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to my next ski race! BACK TO TOP |
