Welcome to my road season 2011! My sister and me joined the cycling team RSV Dueren in March and we received our first team uniform. April 15th, 2011 - we are riding the 61km loop (33.8 miles) as training for the race "Rund um Dueren" - it is a difficult course with 8 % to  12.8 % climbs. April 17th, 2010 - "Rund um Dueren" - This was my first bicycle road race in Germany, really tough, but also a lot of fun. There were 60 competitors in my age group, some of them from the Netherlands and also from Belgium. At the start: April 25th, 2011 - Criterium in Ahrweiler - This was a fast race on a 1000m lap. With my team mate Joshua I wait for the start. Mai 1st, 2011 - Criterium in Buettgen - This was my best race so far. After a fast begin of the race and I got used to it I could stay with the group and finished the race. But I still need a lot of training! May 8th, 2011 - Championships of the state of North Rhine Westphalia - 60 boys or even more were on the start to this important race. I was in a group of great racers. congrats to my team mate Kai Philip for an awesome 7th place. June 23rd, 2011 - Cologne - Championship of the cycling regions Aachen, Cologne, Duesseldorf... On a 1km lap I participated in a 40km affair. It was a really fast race and I finished in the middle of the pack (overall). But within the championship of the region Aachen I finished third. Yippee - my first podium in Germany!!! Still, I know I have to work on the overall..... Joshua, Kai-Philip and me at the awards for championship of the region Aachen. July 12th, 2011 - Simonskall - Hill Climb Championships of the region Aachen - 3,2 km climb up on a narrow road, this was fun and I became third. Pictures will follow! July 17th, 2011 - Schwerte - 40 laps on 40km I could stay in the main field and finished 19th. My first Internet Result!!! July 19th, 2011 - Echtz - Individual Time Trial Championships of the region Aachen - 16 km on a 3,3 km lap. The weather was really ugly, but I placed second. last turn into the road to the finish line July 23rd - Witten - 1,8 km lap with little up-and down hills.  At the start. Out of 40 boys I finished 20th. August 6th, 2011 - Rhede - Helmut Wieling Memorial Race Again 40 laps on a 40km course -  I finished 17th! August 20th - Velbert - Hill Climb Championships of the state of North Rhine Westfalia. A 5,2 km climb, we had to ride it twice, times got added together. I loved it so much and it reminded me on the Colorado State Championships last year. I finished 12th - what a great result !!! Warm-up at the start! We finished the road bicycle season at the end of September and I can say, it was a tough one. During the last races I could stay in the front group, but it was still not enough to place top 10.
